Who should apply

The Winter School is designed for researchers working with human data who want to rethink their methods – not just add more techniques.

  • PhD students in psychology, economics, computer science, engineering, social and behavioural sciences, etc.
  • Postdoctoral researchers and research fellows.
  • University researchers and professors leading or designing research projects.
  • Professionals involved in human-focused research, evaluation or innovation.

Basic familiarity with empirical research is expected. You do not need advanced statistics skills in all methods covered.

What you need to prepare

Before opening the form, it helps to have the following ready:

  • A short description / abstract of your current or planned research project (focus, main questions, current stage).
  • A brief motivation statement explaining why you want to join the Winter School and what methodological issues you want to work on.
  • A few lines about your background (discipline, role, institution) and how you currently work with human data.

How to submit your application

  1. Click on “Apply now” below to open the online application form.
  2. Fill in your personal and academic details and indicate your current position.
  3. Paste or upload the abstract of your project and write your motivation to attend.
  4. Review your answers and submit the form before 7 January 2026 (23:59 CET) - DEADLINE EXTENSION 16 JANUARY 2026.

After submitting, you will receive an automatic confirmation email. Notifications of acceptance will be sent after the deadline.
